GTA 6 PC Release Could Arrive Just 3 Months After Consoles

Here’s something that could shake up the usual Rockstar rhythm. A new leak from a well-known GTA insider suggests the PC version of GTA 6 might arrive way sooner than we expected – just three months after the console release, aiming for February 2027. That’s a big change considering Rockstar’s history of making PC fans wait years.

Leak suggests February 2027 target for GTA 6 PC version

Rockstar has never been quick with PC ports. Remember GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2? Both took forever to land on PC after their console launches. This delay was often seen as a way to squeeze more sales from console players first. But now, according to Detective Seeds, a leaker with some solid GTA scoops, Rockstar is eyeing a February 2027 launch for the PC version, just three months after consoles get their hands on it.

Detective Seeds shared this info on X, claiming it comes from three former Rockstar employees who know the company’s release plans but need to stay anonymous. While this sounds promising for PC players, there’s no official confirmation yet, and no evidence was provided with the leak, so it’s best to keep this news in perspective.

According to 3 former Rockstar employees (that I contacted through Linkedin) Grand Theft Auto 6 is aiming to release the PC version in February 2027. All stated this timeline could shift, but Take- Two and Rockstar wanted to get the game out before end of fiscal year. I reached… pic.twitter.com/mOh50sQR4Q

It’s worth noting that Detective Seeds has leaked other GTA 6-related info before, like a supposed PlayStation marketing deal and tech details that might let GTA 6 run at 60 FPS on the PS5 Pro. None of that is officially confirmed either, so take all these leaks with a healthy dose of skepticism.

What this could mean for players and Rockstar

From a business angle, launching the PC version just three months after consoles is unusual for Rockstar. The studio’s traditional strategy has been to delay PC ports to encourage gamers to buy the game twice – first on console, then on PC. This “double dip” has proven profitable with GTA 5 and RDR 2.

If GTA 6’s PC release really happens in February 2027, that tight three-month gap might make many PC players hold off on buying the console version at all. It’s a move that could cut into Rockstar’s usual revenue flow, which is probably why such a quick turnaround feels strange.

Still, if true, this would be a win for PC fans who’ve been left waiting for years in the past. We’ll have to wait and see if Rockstar changes its playbook this time around.

For now, the February 2027 PC launch window is just a rumor from a leaker, so keep your expectations balanced. But it’s definitely a refreshing possibility in Rockstar’s usual slow-and-steady release cycle.
