Crimson Desert Ditched the Weird AI Art and Made the Game Smoother to Play

So, Crimson Desert just got a patch that fixed something pretty odd and made the game feel better to play. You might have noticed some strange paintings in the game that looked like a wild AI experiment gone wrong. Well, Pearl Abyss spotted that too and swapped those weird AI-generated images for actual human-made art. Plus, they didn’t stop there – they made loading times faster and gave the controls a good polish.

That AI Art Was Definitely Not What Anyone Expected

When Crimson Desert launched, players quickly pointed out some paintings in the game looked, frankly, bizarre. Some of the art had that telltale AI vibe – like a Frankenstein’s monster mashup of humans and horses that was just… unsettling. Pearl Abyss never said they were using AI art before the launch, and when players called them out, they apologized for accidentally leaving those AI-generated assets in the final game. They promised to check all the in-game visuals thoroughly.

Now, with patch 1.01.00, those questionable paintings have been replaced with hand-drawn pieces that actually fit the game’s style. What was once a sloppy yellow mess now looks like something you’d want to actually collect and admire while roaming the world of Pywel.

More Than Just Art Fixes: Faster Loading and Smoother Controls

This update isn’t just about ditching AI art. Loading times, especially for fast travel, got a solid speed boost. That’s a big deal because waiting around in an open-world RPG can really kill the vibe. Plus, the controls got some fine-tuning. Movement speed for both your character and mounts is now quicker, making exploration feel snappier.

And yes, there are some new mounts added too. Pearl Abyss didn’t spill the details to avoid spoiling the experience, but if you’re curious, hopping on these new rides will be a fresh way to see the world.

It’s pretty clear Pearl Abyss is focused on polishing Crimson Desert’s visuals and gameplay. Removing AI art that didn’t belong and improving how the game runs shows they’re paying attention to what players want. If you’re still diving into Crimson Desert, these updates should make your adventure look better and feel smoother.
